Surprised Paul and made some sun tea.
Just a shot of him playin. He was tired of painting....
Abby painting her "quilt" picture
Today was a quiet day. We had no plans, it was nice to stay home. We had a lazy morning, but then got busy after lunch. Made bread, Abby made a loaf of Italian Herb bread that we had with dinner. She did a good job, she did most of it herself while I watched. Forgot to take a picture though. Washed all the rugs from the three bathrooms and hung them in the sun to dry. Worked on some other laundry and started sifting through the arts and crafts supply drawers in the basement. Abby asked to do something crafty so.....
We made salt paintings. I got the idea from the Usborne Book of Art Ideas. You watercolor and while it is still wet, you sprinkle salt all over your paper. When it dries, shake off the excess salt and you have a sparkly picture with some texture to it. It was actually lots of fun. I made one too. LOL It was quite messy with the salt though. I'm glad we did it out on the back deck.
Jacob wasn't too thrilled with the painting. He's not been feeling good for quite a few days now. I'm starting to think maybe he's developing allergies. He's just been stuffed up and really tired. No fever. Not sure if I'll call the doctor or not. Paul says to watch him a couple more days.....
We enjoyed the sunshine. I was able to read a bit, while Jacob went inside to play and Abby painted some more. Paul was home early since he had physical therapy this afternoon. He was quite sore, looks like they did some new things. It is helping though, he's noticing things feeling better. So that is good!
Be blessed!

Becki,
Sounds like you had a great summer day. I like the salt painting idea, I will have to try that with the girls, I know they would like it. It's fun readying what people are doing. I enjoy your blog.
