Busy Week, eyes and a birthday

Tuesday found us in Kirkland visiting a pediatric opthamologist for Abby. He says he doesn't think her eyes are bad enough for another surgery. We are back to patching/eye drops for her good eye in order to make her bad eye work. The doctor says it's so slight it should be fine in about a year as long as we are vigilant. Abby prefers the patch over the eyedrops, but the patches irritate her skin. We just ordered one that will fit over the lens on her glasses, hopefully this will work much better. I thought we might have a bit of a fight from her, but she's done really well so far. I think because she's older now, and the doctor explained to her as well so she could understand. She has already had comments about the patch and she has handled them very well. In fact she doesn't seem to notice people looking at her like I do.

Thursday we tried to meet some friends we haven't seen in awhile at the park. We've had to reschedule this every week for over a month now, seems the day we pick has always decided to rain! So woke up thursday morning and though it was cloudy and wet, it wasn't raining. But as soon as we hit the park it just downpoured! We let them play for about 20 minutes or so and then looked at each other and said "McDonalds". LOL So we were dry, they got to play some more, and they were all treated to McD's, which with rising prices and gas costs, really was a treat!

Friday both kids received cards/letters from their grandparents in Idaho. They were both really excited to read them. They are looking forward to our move out that way. Abby has been sad about leaving recently, but this seemed to perk her up a bit!

Saturday was my nephew's 8th birthday. I can hardly believe that eight years have gone by since he was born! He had a fun party with his friends and cousins. They got to jump in a bouncy house in the yard, make cotton candy, and snow cones! The benefits of having a daddy that works for a rental company! LOL I think he really enjoyed his birthday. You can see him in the pics above with his cake and opening up the books we got him.

I didn't get as many pics as I'd like this week to share. But I'm trying. I've at least had the camera with me, now I've just got to remember to use it!
