Miscellaneous October

Snow! Last Friday!
I surprised her here. I could hear her in her room, singing with Jeremy Camp. LOL Her door was cracked open a bit, I saw this and grabbed the camera!

Part of Jacob's Civil War Plantation project.

Abby and my nephew, Noah in their footy pj's this past weekend.

Anniversary gift

On my finger......
In the box.....it's a diamond anniversary band, I no longer have my wedding band(long story) so this will go where that was. :) It's 1 carat total weight. With my other ring makes a total of 10 diamonds on my finger. Abby joked I needed one more ring to make 15 diamonds for 15 years. LOL I don't think so!
What did hubby get? A Wii. Pictures soon on that I'm sure!

15 years ago today.......

Dusty was our ring bearer..I can't believe he's all grown up now!
Daddy and I . I don't remember if this if before or after....

My hubby and I. Fifteen years ago I married my very best friend! Every day I love him more and I'm thrilled to be able to be his wife. We may have been young and very immature, I'm not even sure we knew really what we were doing! LOL But we have come a long way, and I'd do it all over again the very same way! I love you honey :)
These are scanned so not the best quality on here. And yes it was a very low budget wedding. :)

What Happened to Fall?

Woke up this morning FREEZING cold! Had to get up and turn the heat on and scrape the van windows when we left for co op class this morning. What happened to Fall? Seems we went from Summer straight to Winter. We are expecting SNOW tonight! Argh! This afternoon the kids and I hunted for a winter coat for me(no luck, unless I want to spend $100), then spent some time putting away all the summer things and pulling out the cold weather things. Both kids have grown ALOT in the past year. Jacob was good on jeans because we had just bought a bunch at the beginning of summer back in Washington, but needs long sleeves and I did pick up new gloves and a hat for him. Still need to find both kids snow boots. Abby just needed some long sleeve shirts and pj's. I've found her three pairs of jeans in the last couple of weeks off the clearance racks, plus she had some from last year that were bought too big and she never wore. So she's pretty good for now in that dept. Paul and I both need some warmer things as well. Now we just need to find the time and money to shop. LOL

I'm up late, was cleaning for our company coming in tomorrow. Paul started a movie while I was doing so, just waiting for it to end, so I can go to sleep!

Hope all had a good day.

Just a check in

I know I need to update more frequently, just haven't been doing anything too interesting. Paul has had to Drill the last two weekends in a row. This past Saturday Abby went to a birthday party for one of her soccer teammates. She had a pretty good time, even with the huge thunderstorm that rolled through during the party. After Jacob and I dropped her off we hit a couple of thrift stores and JoAnn Fabric before going home. We scored in books, I think I spent $8 and came away with a whole bag full. I was really excited because two of them were on my "want" list! At the fabric store I found a carrying bag for the sewing machine marked down to $5! Woohoo! Been wanting something like that for awhile now. And it fits perfectly :) Jacob wasn't too bored shopping with me, LOL, it helps that he knew he had video game time when we got home.

Not too much going on. Just the normal day to day things. School is going well, we're in our groove and as long as I stay on top of keeping things organized it goes pretty smoothly. We are.even starting earlier since Abby decided she'd rather shower in the mornings instead of the evenings. Took a bit for me to get used to(I'm not a morning person at all!) but we're all getting more sleep, including Paul who has to get up really early for his 10 hour days. Speaking of , he says he's going to continue with them, I guess they are working well for him. He has a choice of 5 eight hour days or 4 tens. I really enjoy having him home on Fridays too. :) He gets to go along on most of our field trips as well.

Jacob has almost earned his Tenderfoot Rank in Boy Scouts. He still comes home pretty excited each week and looks forward to the next one. Paul says he's really fitting in with the troop. And I love how organized they seem to be. My only pet peeve is selling things, we are in the middle of popcorn sales and he brought home a form for selling Christmas wreaths! Yikes, we're having a hard enough time with the popcorn sales. We'll just do the best we can, I guess. They are both hoping to go on the November campout. So far the campouts have conflicted with other things each month.

Abby has a few more soccer games left in the season. She's been a bit jealous of Jacob's Boy Scouts and for personal reasons we won't do Girl Scouts, so I bit the bullet and started asking around to see if there were any Keepers of The Faith clubs going in the area. I haven't found one, but did find someone with interest in getting one going. So we are talking back and forth about starting one up. She has 5 children, with one of her daughter's very close in age to Abby. So hoping that works out for Abby :)

Well, need to get back to the daily routine. I've got to get dinner put together so Paul can pop it in the oven when he gets home, while we are at soccer practice.

Variables and Gliders

Measuring the distance. It broke on the very last throw! LOL
Throwing the glider.

This morning Abby made two gliders. With different sized wings. Then went outside and "flew" them, measured their distances and then averaged those. She learned about variables, measuring, averaging, hypothesis and speculation.
She wanted me to be sure and take pictures, because I've been taking them of Jacob's experiments. :)
Now, it's on to making lunch, paying bills, and helping out Jacob with his diorama of a Civil War era plantation. Then we've got soccer practice. Busy, busy day. But beautiful weather we've been having. Sticking around 87-90 degrees the last few days, but I see rain in the forecast for the weekend. Thankful for no soccer game, as it is a four day weekend for the local school district!
