Well, I haven't taken pictures for three days! Sorry, I'm just going to put it out there and then not worry about it. I got sicker, before better. Friday night into Saturday was horrible. I could not stop coughing long enough to catch my breath. The kids and Paul went on to the Bible Quiz meet while I went on to the walk in clinic. No bronchitis, no pneumonia, just a nasty virus that's going around with a horrible cough that lasts for weeks :( I did get some new cough medicine though, that just helped the coughing stop. I was taking one with an expectorant that did not seem to help at all, and since my lungs were clear, the doc said to quit taking it. I felt much better with new meds on board Sat. night. I got up to go to church sunday morning, but was up a bit and Paul suggested a stay home and just rest, which I did. And it helped. I slept really good last night. Made it to co-op this morning, but didn't stay the whole day. The kids did their 3 classes before lunch and I taught my Latin class. We left just before lunch and I barely made it home before crashing. Paul had today off for MLK, so I let him take care of dinner and such...... :) Fell asleep for a bit, read a book, and just finished getting the kids' assignment books ready for the rest of the week. I will try to start taking pics again tomorrow!
Be blessed!

P365 January 14th
Decided I needed to catch up the last couple of days' pictures. I'm still feeling crummy. This cough just won't quit. I did get some cough medicine and it helps a bit, but I am just plain ol' exhausted. I did go to Church Wednesday night, since I missed the week before. Thursday, we had co-op and a guitar lesson and I was so thankful that our mother/daughter book club got rescheduled to next week, I don't think we would have made it that night. Today, Paul was off for a four day weekend, but Abby had her first girls club meeting and didn't want to miss it, so we went. We did end up leaving early though. Tomorrow the kids have a Bible Quiz meet, but Paul wants me to stay home and rest, and I think I'm going to do that. Though I've never missed a meet yet! But I do need to rest and try and get better. If I'm not better after the weekend, he's making me go see the doctor....
Today's picture is of Abby stitching her project at girl's club today.

Hello :) Not much to share today. We overslept, but I needed it(I finally slept all night with no coughing fits waking me up!). We managed to get school done on time and even some housework and chores. Made Ranch Pork Chops for dinner. So easy and so yummy :)
My picture today is of gatorade bottles, washed and drying to be used in my co-op class later this week.

Back to our Monday co-op today! Woke up to snow, but by the time we headed out we just had to deal with snow covered streets in our neighborhood, the main roads and the interstate were just fine. Of course we left early, and since the roads were mostly fine, we arrived early! It was nice to be back, but I was wiped out by the end of the day. I've pretty much not done a thing since we got home this afternoon :(
I'm giving this cough until the end of the week, if it's not getting better or gets worse I'm heading to the doctor. I can't believe it's zapping so much of my energy. Other than that I feel fine.
We watched the new Karate Kid finally. We all really liked it. The kids now want to see the original one. Will have to do that soon.
My picture for today is of one of my beloved kitchen appliances. My very best friend on a long, co-op day :) I own three so far, this is the one that I happened to have dinner cooking in today. Which by the way I need a better recipe, wasn't very good at all :( But I had to try it! LOL

Church today was awesome, even though I didn't feel to great. We missed Sunday School, but I'm glad I went to church. Seems to me there are more people there lately too.
This cold really has been a doozy. It's hit me the hardest. I stayed down through Thursday, but then had things I needed to do the last few days. I need some more down time I think. We have our monday co-op starting up again tomorrow. I just need to make it through that and I'll get a couple days of rest...we have leftovers from the roast so going to make a french dip type sandwich for dinner tomorrow night. Easy and I don't have to think about it.
Found out this morning that another friend's husband left her on Friday :( That is five people in my life that have had their marriages break up very recently. The devil sure is working hard! It scares me, but at the same time reminds me not to take my marriage for granted, to pray everyday for my husband, and to keep trying to be the Godly wife that he needs me to be. My heart is so broken for my friends and sister in law/brother in law. :(
Todays picture is of Abby's new bookends. A to Z. She loves them, they are pretty cute. I'll have to take another pic of them actually holding the books. They are actually being used on her desk to hold up some of her notebooks and schoolbooks.

P365 January 8th
Happy Saturday! A saturday with nothing planned is very rare lately! We stuck around home this morning just doing things that needed to be done. After lunch, we went up to the library, they were having a booksale today. Not the greatest selection(I forgot about it yesterday!) but I did find two books that have been on my list for awhile. Then the kids wanted to try and spend some giftcards and Christmas money. We spent about 3 hours in various places. Abby found a tote bag and some lipgloss. Jacob bought one hotwheel. LOL! They are not big spenders when it's their own money they are spending! LOL! I found some pot scrubbers(oh joy!) a file box for Paul(he won't let me get a taller filing cabinet, yet he has paper piles on the book shelf and his dresser and in the closet.....) and a new vegetable brush(someone used mine to do some cleaning with....argh! LOL). Exciting purchases I know! Heehee! We had some dinner out, as I forgot to put the roast in the crockpot, so I will do that tomorrow morning. I taped a note to the front door that I will see when we are leaving for church. It's in the crock, in the fridge, I'll just need to pop it into the machine in the morning.
Abby and I are going to try out a science experiment that we will be doing in co-op this coming week. Then maybe watch our netflix movie finally :)
Todays pic, is a New Years/Chistmas letter from my cousin and his family who live in the South of France :)

I almost forgot to take a picture today. We got through school pretty quickly today. Everyone stayed on task and most of it was review and quizzes. Abby has spent the afternoon beading, Jacob has beeon going from one thing to the next but mostly looking at his car magazines and listening to music. I made dinner for a friend, her youngest daughter is going through chemo for neuroblastoma. Paul and I dropped that off and then went out to dinner at TGIFridays. Yummy! We did a bit of shopping, some shirts for Jake at Old Navy and some bookends at Target. Now the hubby and children are watching something on tv. I'm trying to finish up some things I wanted to take care of on the computer, so I didn't have to do them this weekend :) My pic today is of part of my Christmas cards from this year hanging on the front door. Getting ready to take them down. I didn't get any out this year, though I did buy some after Christmas to send out next year. They just didn't make it near enough to the top of my list this year......

P365 January 6th
Today Paul was home. He had some leave days that needed to be used and I found myself needing to be in two places at once! So he helped me out :) Jacob had a makeup Speech class to go to, since they missed a week in December due to Christmas. Since it was not an actual co-op day, his teacher had everyone over to her house. It was neat to be able to hear the speeches. Normally, I'm off teaching my science class during that time. I was so nervous for Jacob, mostly because I know how nervous I get. But he rocked it! I was sooooo impressed! He did such a good job. He knew what he needed to do and he did it! Paul took Abby to her guitar lesson with her new guitar she got for Christmas. He helped her get it tuned just right and got her playing on it. It is a full size one, her old one was smaller in size for a child to play. It will take some getting used to, she prides herself on not having to watch her hands, but she had to today, since the size was different. But we told her she'd get used to where the strings are on this one and be playing without looking soon! She also let me videotape her playing! This is HUGE! She hasn't ever let me do that before! She's playing in the previous post :)
Todays pic is just of my planners, old and new, merging into the new one and getting everything down. I still can't believe a new year has begun!

P365 January 5th
Just another day. School, chores, coughing and sneezing....I stayed home from church tonight. Decided I wouldn't share germs. Our electricity was out for a few hours this afternoon. I sat down to log Abby on to the computer to do her math and there was boom sound and the whole house went silent and dark. Apparantly a transformer blew! So we studied our Bible Quiz materials for about an hour, and then Abby read a book while Jacob worked on his science. It got so cold in here, we were all bundled in sweaters and blankets by the time Paul got home. He asked why we didn't head to the library or something, which I did think of, but couldn't get the van out of the garage! LOL
Todays pic is of Abby in her room reading(Before Green Gables, which is our book club selection this month). You will find her here often :)

Today was a pretty good day. Still dealing with a head cold and sounds like Jacob is getting it too. Hopefully, he doesn't get too bad as he has a speech class on Thursday! We did schoolwork today, worked on laundry, started going through some paperwork on my desk that seems to be growing. Also made a new recipe for dinner(see the post below for that!). Just a pretty normal day :) Though it is bitterly cold out, we are waking up to single digit temps in the mornings. Brrrrr! The pic I chose today is of Jacob sitting at the table working on some math. He saw me coming and is trying not to laugh.....

Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo
I love fettuccine alfredo. Most times when we go out for Italian food I will order it. I've tried to make it at home and never tastes as good, until tonight. I found a very easy and yummy looking reicpe for Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo in a current issue of Taste of Home. Everyone liked it, even the kids :) I thought I'd share it here.
1 package(12 oz) fettuccine
8 bacon stips, cut into 1 in. pieces
1 pound boneless, skinless, chicken breasts, cubed
2 cups sliced mushrooms(I diced them so the kids wouldn't notice them so much)
6 green onions, thinly sliced
1 garlic clove, minced
1 1/2 cups half and half cream
1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheese
1 tsp. paprika
1/2 tsp. coarse ground black pepper
Extra Parmesan for topping servings
1. Cook the fettuccine. While it is cooking, cook the bacon in a large skillet until crisp. Remove to paper towels to drain. Reserve 1-2 tablespoons of the drippings in the skillet.
2. Saute the chicken in the drippings until no longer pink. Add the mushrooms and green onions. Cook until the mushrooms are tender. Add garlic and cook one additional minute. Stir in the cream, cheese, paprika and pepper. Reduce the heat and simmer, uncovered, for 5-10 minutes. Stir in the reserved bacon.
3. Drain the fettuccine, place in a serving bowl. Add the chicken mixture and toss to coat. Sprinkle with additional cheese.
So Yummy! We had a fresh loaf of bread and caesar salad with it.

P365 January 3rd
I almost forgot to take a picture today! We started back to school today. Got a late start. I woke up about 5am and could not breathe and my head and ears hurt so bad. I took some cold medicine and laid back down, did not get up until almost 10am. Yikes! But I needed it and Paul reminded me that's one of the plusses for schooling at home. We'll get a better start tomorrow. I gave them quite a few things they can work on without my help :) I made it through the day, but I feel miserable. I hope this doesn't last long. Seems like I was just sick, right after Thanksgiving. I usually do not get sick very often!
The photo for today is one I just snapped of some of Abby's schoolbooks on her desk.

P365 January 2nd
Well today, we had an awesome service at church. You could feel the Lord moving and chains breaking. Very much a great place to be today :) After church, we had lunch and TBQ practice. Then we came home and put all the Christmas decor away until next year. I did leave some of my snowmen out though :) I worked on the last little bit of school things so we are ready to jump back in tomorrow. Made some homemade pizzas. And ready to call it a night. The picture is of the last of the tree...the last of the decorations to be put away.

P365 January 1st
A picture a day for the whole entire year? Maybe I can keep up. I'm going to at least try! Day one is Abby in her new coat she found at Macy's for $25! And her $4 hat from Claire's! She's turning into a great shopper like her mama, of course it's easy to watch what your spending when it's your own money! LOL!
